From Regret to Reinvention: My JEE Journey and the Birth of a New Dream

April 21, 2025 — A date that will forever be etched in my memory. Today, I find myself sitting in silence, processing the sting of disappointment, burdened with a heavy heart as I reflect on my JEE results. The number staring back at me doesn't just represent a percentile; it reflects a journey of highs and lows, dreams and distractions, effort and regret. But amidst the pain, it also sparks something far more powerful—acceptance and a renewed purpose.

The Beginning: A Dream Fueled by Hope

I still vividly remember the day I began my journey as a JEE aspirant. Like many students in India, my dream was clear—to get into an IIT and pursue BTech. I was filled with hope, ambition, and a vision for the future. Life seemed to be falling into place. I studied daily, kept pushing forward, and carried the belief that with hard work, anything was possible.

But slowly, something changed.

The Comparison Trap

One of the biggest lessons I've learned is this: never compare yourself to others. I often found myself looking at toppers—their perfect scores in test series, their consistency, their confidence—and I'd wonder, "Why not me?" My marks, in comparison, were far from impressive. Many times, not even average. Each test felt like a confirmation that I was falling behind. The thought crept in: "Maybe this isn't for you, bro. Just give up."

The shift began there—from dreaming of a top IIT to just hoping for a decent private college. It hurt. It still does.

Fighting Through the Fog

But here’s the thing—I didn’t quit.

Even with distractions piling up, even when I started taking JEE Mains lightly, I kept going. Yes, my consistency wavered. Yes, I lost focus. But I never truly gave up. I was serious during the early days of class 11, and I hoped to bounce back in 12th with full dedication. And I did well in my board exams, but when reality hit, it hit hard.

The Reality Check

January 2025 came. My first JEE result: 52 percentile.

It broke me.

But I didn't stop. I promised myself I’d give my best for the April session.

April came. My result: 65 percentile.

It was a brutal reminder that life isn’t a fantasy written on paper—especially not for people like me, who are building from scratch. My dreams of IIT were slipping away, and with them, a piece of my old self.

Now, I find myself exploring private college options—not out of choice, but out of necessity. And that’s okay.

Accepting Responsibility, Not Blame

I don’t blame anyone. Not my mentors, not my peers, not my circumstances. Only me.

I own my mistakes. I acknowledge every moment I got distracted, every hour wasted, every opportunity not taken seriously.

But here’s what makes me proud: I’m still standing.

A New Chapter: The Rise of Mediokart

To everyone reading this—thank you for being here. Thank you for caring enough to read my truth.

Let me make one thing clear, not just to you but to myself:

By the end of my college life, I will earn more than ₹1 lakh per month, and I will successfully build my dream startup—Mediokart**, a revolutionary platform that will change healthcare access across India.

This isn't just a dream. It's a commitment.

No Drop. Just Rise.

I’ve made my decision: I will not take a drop year.

Yes, I believe I could crack IIT if I gave it another shot. But now, my focus has shifted. College matters only if all you do is study. But in the real world, it’s your skills that make you stand out, not your college name.

So no more regret. No more looking at the empty glass.

I’m choosing to focus on what I have, not what I don’t. I may not have an IIT tag, but I have resilience, vision, and an unshakable belief in myself.

What Life Has Taught Me

  • Never compare your journey with others.

  • Mistakes are painful, but they’re also powerful teachers.

  • Skills > College. Always.

  • You can start over anytime—just don’t give up.

The Final Word

Life isn’t about what I expected from others—or even from myself. Life is about what I choose to do every day. And today, I choose growth. I choose hustle. I choose to build something extraordinary.

This is not the end of my story. It’s the beginning of my empire.

  1. Great insights on the role of video technology in education! I’d like to add that using a 4K PTZ camera for teaching can truly transform the classroom experience. The ultra-high-definition resolution ensures students don’t miss any detail, whether in a physical or virtual setting. Plus, the pan-tilt-zoom features offer flexible coverage — ideal for interactive lectures, demonstrations, and hybrid learning environments. It’s a smart investment for schools and institutions aiming to enhance their remote teaching quality and in-class engagement.
