Next Plan

My JEE Mains Second Attempt: The Last Chance to Prove Myself

The past year has been a rollercoaster of emotions, realizations, and regrets. As I sit down to reflect, one thing is clear—I could have done better. My first attempt at JEE Mains did not go well, and the disappointment is hard to swallow. Scoring just 46 marks was never part of the plan. I had entered 11th grade with a dream of cracking IIT, but somewhere along the way, I got too engrossed in other pursuits—building websites, exploring technology, and focusing on projects that, while valuable, took me away from my primary goal.

Now, reality has hit me hard. The regret of not preparing well enough lingers, but instead of dwelling on the past, I have chosen to fight back. The game is not over yet—I am still in it. The second attempt is my chance to turn things around, and this time, I will give it my all.

My Plan for JEE Mains Second Attempt

I have set clear and structured goals to ensure that I make the most of the remaining time. I need to get into NIT Patna, CS Branch—no matter what. This is my at-any-cost mission now.

Daily Study Routine:

  • Attend 2 classes daily

  • Solve questions roughly in rough copy

  • Make proper notes daily

  • Review and revise notes daily

  • Attend ‘Battleground’ daily (competitive problem-solving sessions)

  • Complete all homework daily

Weekly Plan:

  • Sunday: Take a complete mock test based on what I studied that week and review & revise all notes

  • Total Sundays Left: 8 (Dedicated for revision and PYQ practice)

  • Target Weekly Chapters:

    • Week 1: 2 chapters

    • Week 2: 12 chapters

    • Week 3: 12 chapters

    • Week 4: 12 chapters

    • Week 5: 12 chapters

    • Week 6: 12 chapters

    • Week 7: 12 chapters

    • Week 8: 12 chapters

Key Focus Areas:

  • Revise each chapter 10 times

  • Solve 800 PYQs per week

  • Take frequent mock tests in free time

  • Attempt 9-10 full-length mock tests before the final exam

Lessons Learned & Mindset Shift

I have realized that perfection is a myth. The syllabus will never be 100% complete, and there will always be gaps. But that doesn’t mean I won’t succeed. What matters most is consistency, smart revision, and problem-solving practice. This time, I will not leave any stone unturned.

2024 and 2025 are my defining years. 2024 was about pushing myself beyond limits, exploring new things, and working on projects that made me happy. But now, 2025 is about proving to myself that I can achieve what I set out to do in the first place. I need this victory—not just for the marks but for the self-respect, confidence, and pride that comes with achieving what I once dreamt of.

Final Thoughts

This journey is not just about cracking an exam—it’s about discipline, resilience, and proving to myself that I can rise even after setbacks. I am still in the game, and I am not giving up.

See you at the finish line—NIT Patna, CS Branch! 🚀
