There is no impact of social media on students
Hello,
I am sharing my thoughts and ideas about the impact of social media on career choices and the lack of awareness about other career options besides the traditional ones such as IAS, engineering, and doctors.
recently I had to decide whether I should prepare for the JEE exam, and now I am preparing for JEE 2025. In my mind, many questions arise related to the new era of technology. Generally, before this time, the majority of the population decided to become an IAS officer, engineer, doctor, or lawyer. However, after the advent of social media and awareness about other career options, there is a difference in these career choices. Despite this awareness, students are still preparing for these traditional exams, and there is no significant impact of social media on their career choices.
I have observed that there has been a lot of development in the field of freelancing after the emergence of social media.
In today's times, career counseling events or shows have become more popular. However, I noticed that in these counseling sessions, counselors only talk about a few career options such as IAS, engineering, medical, and other famous exams. But in our world, these careers are not the only options available.
There are many other career options that no one tells us about. This is because there are thousands of coaching centers that charge exorbitant fees on the name of IAS, engineering, and medical."
It's not entirely the fault of career counselors that they only talk about these traditional careers, as parents of students also want to see their children pursuing these options. This highlights some loopholes in our system that need to be addressed. I have observed many instances where students' and parents' lack of knowledge about alternative career paths has led to ruined futures. Unfortunately, these stories don't make it to social media, as our society is not always ready to accept this dark truth based on their past experiences.
However, times have changed, and we need to make our career decisions based on our interests, not the societal pressure to pursue certain professions. As we become more aware of the vast array of career options available, we need to encourage our parents and peers to broaden their thinking and explore new paths."
Thank you. That's only my point of view.
